About

The artist

Turning Point Ensemble is a large chamber ensemble founded by its musician members in Vancouver in 2002. Sized between a chamber group and a symphonic orchestra, it focuses on music from the early twentieth century to the present while placing repertoire in innovative and interdisciplinary contexts. The ensemble maintains a regular Vancouver concert season and also works in recording, touring, digital production, composer development, and music education. Its recorded catalog includes Curio Box and projects centred on Canadian composers, while current 2025–26 and 2026 programming documents ongoing public activity. Artistic co-director Owen Underhill is a longstanding conductor and creative leader for the group. Turning Point received a 2025 Western Canadian Music Award nomination in the Classical Artist or Ensemble category.
