The artist

Felix Cartal is the Vancouver electronic project of producer, DJ, songwriter, and director Taelor Deitcher. He began in punk and progressive bands around North Vancouver before moving into electronic production in the mid-2000s. Early releases for Dim Mak led to Popular Music in 2010 and Different Faces in 2012. His later work placed more emphasis on melodic songwriting and vocal collaboration through Next Season, Expensive Sounds For Nice People, and Into Sunsets. Collaborators across that period include Lights, Sophie Simmons, Karen Harding, Daya, Elohim, Tegan and Sara, Rêve, and other pop and electronic artists. The 2025 album i, sabotage developed that approach through songs including Dancing In A Dream, Dissociate, and Summer Rain, while the expanded i (still), sabotage followed in February 2026. The exact Spotify identity currently contains 114 distinct album and single containers from May 2009 through May 2026, including seven album-classified releases and 107 singles. Scream! with Ashley Sienna is the latest matching release. Cartal has also built a local live practice around short-notice beach, transit, club, and community pop-ups.
