The artist
Lesbians on Ecstasy, also known as Lezzies On X, formed in Montreal in 2003 and developed a distinctive plunder-music approach: familiar lesbian and feminist music references are reworked into electro-punk, electroclash, techno, and dance-floor collage. The group’s releases include the self-titled 2004 album, Giggles in the Dark, We Know You Know, and the 2024 single Twelve Past Midnight with its Reeeemixxx companion. The artist-controlled Bandcamp profile identifies the project as based in Montreal, and Suoni Per Il Popolo’s 2025 program documents a Montreal live appearance.
